How the money you raise will help

Edible Playgrounds
Ten-year-old Jamel has lived on a South London estate all his life. He spends most of his time running around outside playing football with his friends. When Trees for Cities visited his school, they planted a grove of fruit trees and taught his class how to turn the fruit into delicious, nutritious puddings. Now he and his friends know how to eat a balanced diet that will give them all the energy they'll need to become the next Rio Ferdinand. Your £25 will help create more edible playgrounds in schools across the country.

A spot to sit
Florence and Henry have lived in the East End all their lives. The old terraced houses they grew up in have long since been replaced with high-rise flats. Thanks to Trees for Cities their local park is as lush and beautiful as they can ever remember it being. And now they enjoy nothing more than sitting together under the trees watching the world go by. Choose to run with a buddy and your £50 contribution will help Trees for Cities improve more local parks across the UK.

Composting class
Get four of your friends or colleagues together and the £100 that you raise could teach an Ethiopian family how to produce their own compost using organic household waste, as well as teaching them how to use it on their land to improve the growth of their fruiting trees.

The Tree of Life
Get on the sponsorship offensive and raise £150! This will pay for local tree species and a practical tree-planting workshop in a Peruvian school, which will teach local communities how to plant and care for their native Huarango trees. Known as the 'tree of life', this tree provides fruit and fuel as well as shade in the unforgiving Peruvian desert.
