Easy ways to help you reach your £25 target!

Some easy, fun tips to get you started...
and the donations growing!

  1. 'Guess my time' game: Encourage your friends and family to bet 50p or £1 on the time they think you will complete the race. Download the game sheet, put it up at home or at work and let each guesser put their name against the time they choose. Tell them that the lucky winner will get a prize. You'll be amazed at how easy it is to blag free stuff. Be nice to your local businesses and try to get a bottle of wine from an off-licence or a meal for two from a pub – or provide a prize of your own: bake a cake or get creative and make something. For help getting businesses to donate prizes you can use our standard prize donation email.
  2. Bake some tree biscuits for your colleagues: Make tree-shaped biscuits or a lovely cake for your work buddies and charge them for the privilege of eating them! Either charge per slice (£1), per biscuit (50p) or for the entire cake (£5). Remember to budget the recipe ingredients into the price of the cake. Why not get creative and decorate your cake with trees and runners to push up the price. Check out our recipe ideas.
  3. Cook for your mates: Cook a meal for your friends or family and ask for a donation towards your fundraising efforts e.g. £10 per person. It doesn't have to be a blow-out – you can make delicious meals on a budget. How about a barbeque as the weather heats up? Or a series of themed meals based on the cuisine of different countries – you could make this a fancy dress event too. Remember to budget the food into your fundraising. We've got some delicious recipe ideas to inspire you and help you get cooking – check out our recipe ideas.
  4. Walk the dog: Walk (or run with) your friend's dog once a week or more for a donation (£5). This will not only raise your fundraising amount but help to keep you fit and increase your chances of winning top prizes at this year's Tree-Athlon!
  5. Use your skills: Are you a musician, an artist, an excellent knitter, a hairdresser, masseuse or a financial adviser? Give an hour of your time and give someone a demonstration or advice... all for a donation of course!

We've got loads more fundraising ideas for you and have prepared a standard sponsorship email you can use. Remember to set up your Just Giving page to encourage your friends, family and work buddies to sponsor you.
